We spent the past few days at Deer creek, deep in the interior of the Sierra Nevadas. Deer creek is at the bottom of a canyon, known to be the Ishi Wilderness. In the Live Oaks, Cedar, Pines and poison oak are unusual rock formations of all sorts. Some seem volcanic in nature, others are more dense and hard, maybe sperpentine? We were there with some friends to celebrate their youngest daughter Sierra’s earthly baptism. They are a sweet and kind young family, having 2 daughters. I brought along some henna and was more than happy to henna Sierra’s sister Elizabeth, who is so nice and adorable. I also henna’d the ladies who were also there with us. It was really nice to get out of Chico, even though the road is crazy, for trucks and wild men, it is so worth it.
